He also co-wrote for the satirical character Jonathan Pie, and has edited new editions of novels by Forrest Reid and Stephen Gilbert for Valancourt Books.

The New Puritans: How the Religion of Social… par Andrew Doyle

There's very little meat on this bone; Doyle rabbits on for 22 pages before giving the first example of the problem he's meant to be examining. DNF at page 45 (although I perused the epilogue to make sure) because it's so damned boring, recounting the Salem witch trials and telling us what others have said about cancel culture rather than actually building a convincing argument. (I don't disagree with the premise that knee-jerk social activism is problematic but jeez, present some facts already!)… (plus d'informations)

Woke: A Guide to Social Justice par Titania McGrath

I'm grateful that Doyle decided to start writing serious books, as this effort at comedy is just boring. I think Titania McGrath is really much better on Twitter than in book form. On Twitter, she can be hilarious. I wonder why the difference?

Hilariously enough, the Guardian gave this a rather sniffy review, totally unrelated I'm sure to the fact that the book lampoons a number of their self important columnists.

Free Speech And Why It Matters: Why It Matters par Andrew Doyle

This important book counters the growing tide of free speech skeptics. The author makes a clear and concise case for the need for free speech, its importance, and what it is. This is a welcome defense of free speech - would that we did not so sorely need a book like this.
