Small but good selection of Michele McGrath Duval Series.

Another good story in the quite interesting series. Duval is set to investigate a woman's claim that Napoleon was the father of her son. A very real issue as Bonaparte and Josephine were childless and eager for an heir. Both mother and child are kidnapped and the chase is on. Very good characters, a plausible plot, and good historic period resonance continue to make this series a fun read. From Michele's blog, more are on the way. Huzzah or perhaps Vive L'Empereur!

Duval, a former soldier, started his police career seeking possible Napoleanic assassins. It is only fitting that he end it in similar fashion by identifying the rifleman that is currently hunting Bonaparte. His search is successful but the cost is very painful because of personal losses. His anguish and trauma send him back to the battlefield; this time, Waterloo, one more time.

A good entry in this interesting series. Lots of intrigue, few but all royal suspects, and a very short time frame for finding the crown make this a rapid read.
