A fantastic book on seeking wisdom in a very turbulent and unwise age. I highly recommend this one! I think everyone could benefit from this book.

This book is about curating the time you spend on various things and forms of media in order to make sure you are gaining in wisdom rather than just knowledge (or even worse, folly.) The author recommends turning to these five sources, with each preceding source more important than the next one: the Bible, the Church, nature, books, beauty, and the Internet. The idea is that God is wisdom. In order to gain wisdom, ultimately we have to look to Jesus. The author provided various suggestions on how to curate books you read or the online content you navigate. In both cases, he suggested seeking out books or online content that are deemed great/classic, since that means they withstood the test of time, rather than going for what's trending today or this week. And he encouraged readers to be okay with missing out and intentionally choose a slow pace of living. I like that! He also suggested readers share on social media the beauty we enjoy in life -- a good book, a playlist of music we like, a review of a good restaurant -- instead of expressing negativity. I really enjoyed this book. McCracken combines insightful cultural analysis with a deep biblical and theological mindset. This book could be given to new and mature Christians to help them think about how to grow in wisdom. I highly recommend this book.
