More a pamphlet it is the description of tannery vats that contained the "massacred" remains of American patriots by British Army regulars, killed with the butts of rifles to the head. Although at the time a massacre was described and the event rallied troops and people it was not as serious as thought and more a heinous crime. Excavated and the "Archaeological Report" c) by Wayne M. Daniels 1968. the Museum Director, Bergen County Historical Society.
