Dangerous Shoals is the third book in the Jack Beale Mystery series of books. This book continues the story started in Changing Tides, the second book in the series. The Jack Beale books do not need to be read in order but I do recommend that you read book two and three in order to fully understand the story line. In Dangerous Shoals Jack and his girlfriend Max, while trying to enjoy a relaxing and romantic summer, find dangers from their past are resurfacing and bringing with them even more trouble. Can Jack (and his pet cat, Cat) solve this mystery before more people die? And yes, I did say his pet cat. I loved the role that Cat played in this novel and I look forward to more antics from Jack’s feline companion.… (plus d'informations)

The story begins with two women being stalked and forced off the road where one of them dies and in her dying breath asks that she give her heirloom ring to her niece. A stranger turns up in the town where the niece works and lots of suspicious goings on and a blooming romance for the heroine before she ignores all the usual advice to keep her safe and goes out alone. Kept me interested and had a nice NH setting.

The books opens with a couple of women driving down a road. They are run off the road. One dies instantly. The other survives the crash but is found in a block of ice in Rye Harbor later. The investigation goes from New Hampshire to New Mexico and back and even to Switzerland. I wish I could say that I loved the book, but thrillers are really just not my favorite type of mystery. This one is fairly tame for a thriller plot. The action keeps moving, but the dilemmas do not have the sense of urgency that is present in many books of this genre. I picked this up for free or for 99 cents for my Kindle. It provided that amount of entertainment, but I don't think I would be willing to pay for future installments of the series.… (plus d'informations)

This is the second book in the K.D. Mason’s Jack Beale Mystery series. It follows after the events in Harbor Ice, the first book in the series. However, you need not read the first book to appreciate the second. Mason’s books are similar in style to Robert B. Parker’s Spenser novels. Mason’s main character Jack lives in Rye, New Hampshire and most of the events take place in or around Rye Harbor. However, in this novel, a good part of the story takes place in the turquoise waters of Belize. The story was gripping and I wondered while reading the adventure, whether or not Mason pushed Jack and his love interest Max, to the breaking point. Would the two lovers ever be able to be together again or would this mystery and the fiendish Daniel tear the apart.… (plus d'informations)
