Monique Martin is one of my favorite authors, and her Out of Time series never disappoints. Sands of Time, the latest adventure of Simon and Elizabeth, is overflowing with adventure, suspense and history...all in 1920 Egypt! I love ancient Egyptian history and I was thrilled to see Simon and Elizabeth's travels take them to Cairo! This one is a real nail biter and I found myself on the edge of my seat several times! Ms. Martin does a fantastic job of weaving historical details about the time period into the story and making the era come alive. I really enjoyed reading this book and can't wait for #7!!!… (plus d'informations)

Well. This book didn't do anything for me. Nothing wrong with it. I just did not connect with the characters or their predicament. I won't be reading the rest in the series.

I'm not sure Jack is a strong enough leading character to carry off a series by himself.
He's more of an action figure rather than action hero as he always needs to be rescued. Thankfully, the Crosses turned up at an opportune moment and the book turned into a normal 'Out of Time' adventure. I would not have enjoyed this book half as much without Elizabeth and Simon.
