In her latest case, Kim Stone is dealing with a killer who uses fentanyl as a weapon and leaves his victims just barely alive so that paramedics destroy the crime scene. At the same time, Stacey is dealing with Terence Birch and the havoc he has created in her life, but an unexpected turn might be all she needs to get things back on track.

Bad Blood is another great addition to the DI Kim Stone series. A good plot that is somewhat predictable also raises and addresses some real life societal issues. The stalking story line is handled well, except a police officer as a victim is a tough sell, but I expect that is the point. A couple of side characters from previous books also appear, which adds some layers to this already complex story. All in all, Bad Blood is an engrossing crime thriller with a few minor problems that don't outweigh the quality of the overall novel.… (plus d'informations)

At the end of a rare relaxing weekend, Kim Stone gets a call from Keats, meaning that there is another murder to solve. This time Kim and her team must find out why Sandra Deakin, a psychic who claimed to have the ability to talk to the dead, has been brutally murdered. The trail leads to a group of women who hired Sandra for a fun evening of readings that turned more serious than any of them want to admit.

Deadly Fate is another good entry in the DI Kim Stone series, throwing Kim and her team into the realm of psychics and psychic phenomenon. Familiar characters appear and new ones are developed in this well written story that isn't quite as absorbing as previous novels in this long-running series. Several subplots, including one involving a stalker, distract from the main plot but most come together in a satisfying and emotional conclusion. Overall, Deadly Fate is a fast paced narrative that is entertaining right to the end.… (plus d'informations)

Bad Blood by Angela Marsons has DI Kim Stone and her team trying to solve a perplexing case. Unfortunately, Stacey is off her game. Stacey has a problem that has caused her to lose weight, avoid her friends, and it is now affecting her work. The characters are developed and diverse. The main mystery is well plotted. There are twists and turns along the way. There are certain details that can help you figure out the identity of the guilty party before the reveal (if you pay close attention). The suspense increases throughout the book building to the showdown with the killer. I enjoyed all the action that kept things lively. The secondary mystery involving Stacey took an unexpected turn. Kim is protective of her squad. She is trying to investigate without arousing suspicion. Devon, Stacey’s wife, does not appreciate Kim’s questioning. I liked the solution to the crime. There is an excessive amount of foul language (fair warning) and the violence is detailed. While Bad Blood is the nineteenth A DI Kim Stone novel, it can be read as a standalone. You will be missing the background information on the characters and the beginning of Stacey’s problem. I love Kim’s dog, Barney. I hope no one ever takes advantage of Kim’s weakness (aka Barney). I had to laugh at Bryant’s problem. Kim handled it in her typical manner. Bad Blood had a satisfying ending.… (plus d'informations)
