The structure of this book is written in a descriptive and sequential format. The text is simply written and easy for elementary students to understand. The illustrations add depth to the meaning of the text and help support the reader’s comprehension of the topic. While this story is a nonfiction text, is does not contain many of the usual external text features. The book does contain some bold headings and subheadings, as well as many graphics. There is a timeline of events located in the back of the book, and a list of additional materials to learn more about Sybil’s ride (books and websites).… (plus d'informations)

"Without math, sports would not exist" is the motto of this book, and the author proves us so! The book uses number problems to encourage readers to help find solutions with sports, cooking, and shopping. Middle schoolers would love this book!

I would implement this text in an intro-to-tech class to get students to be curious about the power of technology and how it can improve one's life. The vocabulary is somewhat academic English, so students can be exposed to the word selection when they read it.… (plus d'informations)
