This book was a waste of time and a disappointment. Giving it one star is being generous. And the sad thing is that it started well enough. The author's main problem is a serious lack of focus and a strong tendency to ramble and meander about all sorts of stuff that has nothing to do with Star Trek, which is what the book title would imply. To top it off, his writing style is a little on the boring side, which means you will probably find yourself scanning the book. By now, there are other books that look at Star Trek and life lessons that are much better. Pick up one of those instead and skip this one. This one is not worth it, and it is a pity. I do like Star Trek, but I hate meandering, rambling writers with no apparent goal or focus in site. If this book was a blog today, it probably would not get very far.… (plus d'informations)

A book that gives life wisdom based on Star Trek. James T. Kirk had a potbelly so it's okay if you do. As a captain you can't motivate employees through intimidation. Mankind's future is space. These are the things you learn in this book. At times it was funny, but after 50 pages I was ready for it to be over with.

Capsule review: Self-help, 'how to succeed in business' sort of book, with advice explained by (sometimes rather vague) references to Star Trek. Not very interesting as either advice or Trek.

Many of us of a certain age have based part of our personal philosophy on Star Trek. It was a show that not only had sci-fi and girls in really short dresses, it also had certain values on display. Sometimes clothed in cheap sets and ridiculous plot lines, but they were there none the less. This slim volume explores some meditations based on the TV show; and not just TOS.
