Animation filmmaker Lucy Frampton seemingly has it all-the glamorous mansion, adorable child and too-handsome-for-his -own-good producer husband. But Lucy has something her famous neighbors do not: a nude, wannabe starlet floating dead in her swimming pool!! Available on Hoopla.

Fabulously Dead by Lindsay Maracotta is a 2014 NYLA publication.

This light mystery is laugh out loud funny and a telling satire on the politics in Hollywood.

I found this book while browsing through the Hoopla catalog with my online library account and was intrigued. I guess I live in a bubble because I've never heard of this series. But, I am happy I stumbled across it.

Lucy Frampton and her husband rub elbows with the Hollywood elite, but when Lucy's neighbor winds up dead, she does a little amateur sleuthing and unearths a mess of Hollywood secrets, blackmail, and murder, and could become the killer's next target.

Name dropping Hollywood big shots amid a scathing portrait of Hollywood politics made this book darkly humorous and at times laugh out loud funny.

The mystery is classic and Lucy is a hoot, at once fragile and courageous. The banter between Lucy and the female detective working the case was absolutely pitch perfect.

I see there are several books in this series and so I am committed to reading all of them!

If you like satirical novels, dark humor, and zany characters you love this offbeat mystery.
