Gigi Mahon

Something of a history of the Resorts International company, and its various doings in both the Bahamas and in New Jersey. The author, who had an unusual pairing in working for Barron's and Mademoiselle (?!), had investigated the company for Barron's, and noted that it was a well-worn, if not exactly clear, path. The author strives and strains mightily to bring Watergate and Nixon into it, not altogether successfully. It's clear (possibly owing to her treatment by the firm) that she has something of a grudge against the management of the company. There is murk and corruption to be sure in the story, but the book, including a rather breezy and snarky style, doesn't really click.
