An amazing, enlightening, thoughtful and serious discussion about prayer and its importance in living a spiritual life. I had to read this like a textbook and it was therefore slow going. My plan is to go through it with a friend and really study it. So much of it rings true for my own experience but it goes deeper and wider than what I have even begun to understand or contemplate to this late date in my life.
The author was an ordained Methodist minister who taught philosophy, theology and religion at the College of Puget Sound (now the University of Puget Sound) right here in little ol' Tacoma. It was published in 1957 and is no longer in print but available from many sources.
