Got the Gratis Comic Tag book, which is kinda short and has very little of the story in it. Lots of landscapes though. Might be okay if I get it for cheap.

After two volumes, while these are entertaining, I don't feel that this materiel works as well in print form as it does in animation. What especially suffers in this format are the 'improv' alternate reality tv show and commercial episodes.

The great bearded barbarian, his not-very-cooperative foul-mouthed decapitated witch carry-on and his two formidable recent warrior companions, try to make their way through a series of deadly challenges in a cursed tower. So, too, do three little local critter brothers, in way, way above their heads.

A solid sword & sorcery tale that despite the relatively simple premise brings humour, thrills and pathos to the story of Head Lopper. An excellent second volume! I still find the simple cartoon artwork to be a double-edged sword -- it can be very effective, but it can also be tough to follow -- but beyond that, I have no real notes. This is excellent use of the genre, telling solid, human stories with outrageous monsters and over-the-top action while also consistently making the corners of my mouth -- or even my heartstrings -- twitch just the way MacLean intended.… (plus d'informations)

This is visually interesting with what is a deceptively simplified style that falls between Mike Mignola’s Hellboy and Jeff Smith’s Bone, yet displays some complex story telling craft. It is also aided by some skillful coloring to give it a sense of place and tone.

But I never really engaged with the story. The overall plot device felt like a sub-par Witcher story, hero guy with big sword hired to kill monsters, and nor did I care about any of the characters who all felt as flat as their cartoon style renditions.… (plus d'informations)
