Courte biographie
David Lucas was born in Middlesbrough and grew up Hackney, in east London. Shortly after graduating from The Royal College of Art, he illustrated a picture book by Ted Hughes and began writing picture book stories of his own.

He has since written and illustrated more than eighteen books, translated into at least twelve languages.

He lives with his wife and daughter in an old school house, in Leytonstone, London.

It has a great message about serving others and not giving even though you feel that you have nothing to offer or your heart is broken. Finding your place in the world.
