Another fun horror western. I think I preferred this to 'That Damned Coyote Hill', the concept is stronger and the story more genuinely frightening. The character of Hawthorn continues to intrigue and I'll be interested to see how he develops in future stories.
As a quick, nasty, enjoyable read these stories are hard to beat.

That Damned Coyote Hill is a lean, entertaining western with a well handled horror theme thrown in for good measure. Recommended if you fancy a short, two-fisted read.

Very interesting and fun "weird western" story. If you like this sub genre then this story is for you. If you haven't dived in to that pool yet, this is an easy way to dip your toes in and test the water.

Fight Card is a terrific series and every one of their stories is an absolute knockout. Here, Heath Lowrance, writing under the house name Jack Tunney, has presented a masterpiece of old style pulp fighting. It has top notch fight scenes so vivid you almost feel like you are watching the fight. It has a palooka on the run from the mob, hiding out, trying to pretend he's something other than a fighter. It has tenseness and emotion and you find yourself cheering for the underdog against the mob connected bullies and you find yourself literally cheering during the fight scenes. Highly recommend this book.… (plus d'informations)
