This is one of those second-chance brother's best friend trope romances that should follow a format, but this writing duo gives it a fresh take with wonderful characters, so many puns, and a lot of tension. I wasn't sure how the ending would be resolved, even if I knew it should be a HEA.
Claire is the little sister who stayed in Beacon Harbor, Maine, to run her bakery. Grady couldn't leave fast enough, set on becoming wealthy and running his conglomerate. When he returns home because of a family issue, Claire is one of the first people he runs into. Before, he thought she was too young for him besides being his best friend's little sister, but twelve years have passed, and maybe things have changed. Claire has always loved Grady but now is more immersed in financial woes with the bakery. But guess who has the best business knowledge?
I love Kayley Loring's books, and the addition of Connor Crais to the writing team only adds to the fun. There's a lot of quirkiness, and did I mention the puns? Also, I live in Maine, and they managed to capture the setting perfectly (I mean, Boston's More Than a Feeling was a mainstay on Portland radios for years).
I can't wait for the next book in the series. Either Jake or Damien works for me, but anyone in Beacon Harbor will do, even Crabby Crawford.

Olivia has always had a crush on her brother's best friend, John, so he turns to her as his fake romance when he needs a date for several functions. He's a very successful tech businessman, but the crush has always been returned secretly since she was younger, and he didn't want to upset her brother. It's a fun story with several laugh-out-loud moments.

I am such a huge fan of books that use texts, emails, letters for the main characters to communicate to each other and this book had it all. Alex and Emilia meet by chance at a club that neither want to be at but friends and obligations have them there and the attraction is immediate. They talk, laugh, dance, and then both kind of disappear on each other not by choice though, but before they walked away they shared a magical kiss that had both thinking about it for weeks. Emilia is moving on from her ex and into a life that she wants, and Alex is trying to find happiness after a divorce and as a single dad. These two find each other again but Emilia thinks it would be inappropriate for them to pursue anything. She is his son’s teacher. The way these two characters banter had me laughing so hard and swooning for Alex the next. The attraction is too intense between them, so they keep fighting as much as possible, but it starts to become unbearable. Let’s not forget Ryder, this cute little boy who is determined to set his dad and teacher up is full of tricks and laughter. I loved all the characters, loved the banter, loved the slow burn, and loved the low-key drama. The is the first book I have read by this author and I am dying to read more.… (plus d'informations)
