I mean no disrespect when I refer to D.S. Llitteras' (yes Ll 2 'ls') "Viet Man" as " 'Matterhorn' light" - a comparison with Karl Marlantes 2010 acclaimed Viet Nam novel. Mr. Lliteras has almost identical credentials decorated with the US Navy Medal of Valor, and more. The book is a smaller book with a smaller slice of combat and life as a combat Marine recon medic. "Doc" is "Navy" but he has to qualify as a Marine to be with them and to earn their respect. It's a novel made up of gritty vignettes of "hooch" life and recon patrols, ending when he musters out. I won't spoil it for readers. It's 193 pages, including a glossary of Military jargon. If you liked "Matterhorn", You'll like D. S. Llitteras' "Viet Nam".… (plus d'informations)
