There are a few reasons why I didn’t really enjoy this book. The first problem was that the language was inappropriate for young people, and it is outdated. The book used terms like master, beat, or a phrase like “here comes a chopper to chop off your head.” Another reason why I didn’t like the book was because there is no flow to how the author sequenced the different poems. They were not given titles or any indicator of where the different poems stopped or started. The closest example of an indicator was the illustrations around each poem. There was no motivating reason behind the poems or how they were organized. Along with no plot, there is also no theme for this book as well. Each individual poem has its own meaning; for example the poem that mirrored Jack and Jill is referring to a tragic event in French history.… (plus d'informations)
