Peter Lilley

First read this book. Then, get his sequel book, House in the Sun, and continue a wonderful reading experience that feels as if you are staying in his house in Ajijic. What a generous, insightful, rich experience his writing is. His work is the gold standard of travel writing on a culture. One of my all--time favorite travel writers. I wish I knew more about him, and I wish he had written many more books. I can only find about five.
