This book is old and as all old books it better explains the intricacies of the scientific subject. This is the discovery I've made while perusing my granddad's library. I was studying electric engineering for a while when I was young, and I found a great help in my grandfathers books. I don't know what is wrong with the modern books on science but I sometimes feel like they were written in code. So, as I said this book does not fail to convey interesting crucial and fundamental ideas in fathomable and simple way. As its cover says it is chemistry in relationship to commerce. I was shocked when I learned from this book that just our physiology, physiology of a man who genetically well adapt to live in northern climates will cause him to gain weight in countries with tropical climate. As Steve Jobs was evangelizing connecting dots, Liebig Justus Von Freiherr was doing it in his work long time ago. That what exactly he did. Connected the dots. That is precisely why this book is so interesting. It takes dogmas from different fields that we know or that are just common sense and combines it in a new and unexpected way. The book organised in chapters that are just letters. Each letter starting on a new theme. Probably the most interesting book I've got for free from the Gutenberg project.… (plus d'informations)
