Noni Lichtveld (1929–2017)

This book is the story of the age old classic of the person wondering through the forest and the different people he encounters along the way. The main character tries to shoot an bird in a tree for his family to eat. His arrow gets stuck in the tree, and through various exchanges with many people along his way, he begins to trade. He becomes the owner of a pumpkin, milk, a walking stick and finally a sack of gold. In the end, he meets the King of his land and the king is happy to help the traveler for a trade. A very nice story with a unique type of illustrations that I have not seen before.… (plus d'informations)
