I wasn't expecting much of The Devil, Me, and Jerry Lee when I picked it up, expecting to be a sanitised, not overly well written, account of the Killer by his sister Linda Gail Lewis. Instead, The Devil, Me, and Jerry Lee is one of the best rock memoirs I have read, with Linda Gail not afraid to dish the dirt on herself, her brother, and anyone else who crossed her (the Devil barely rates a mention).

Linda Gail does defend the Killer, usually against the claims of some ex-wives, and may have mentioned most of the eight marriages she has had (I lost count but to be honest, I'd be surprised whether Linda Gail remembers them all as well).

Often hilarious, this book deserves to be better known. Indeed, my only criticism is that The Devil, Me, and Jerry Lee was way too short, clocking in at only 160-odd pages.
