Read this years ago after the show. Still wishing we had more seasons to watch!
Pirates scheme for power and treasure.

It took them a couple years to find their footing, but boy does it reward you for sticking with it. John Silver's character arc is Breaking-Bad-caliber stuff.

It still has its long, slow stretches, but this time around most of it leads to some sort of satisfying payoff. And Silver is increasingly more central, which can only be good.

It's pretty exciting at times - despite slow stretches where it mistakenly thinks it's a drama - but the finale is awful. The entire season builds to something that doesn't end up happening. And the b-story builds to a fight that happens off screen. Still, I expect I'll keep watching. The series is only four seasons long, so they can't keep stalling forever.
