Abe Lerner (1908–2002)

A short followup to Lerner's Assault on the Book, as given in a January 1979 talk at the Grolier Club. Lerner continues his critique of contemporary fine printing, decrying the intrusion of "preciousness" and the selection of "opaque" modern poetry for much fine printing. "We have been bamboozled too long about the new poetry. People defend it in public. Privately nobody enjoys it," he says, calling for more discussion among collectors and printers.
