A Good Man by Rosanna Leo is one hot romance, my goodness!

I came into this book expecting a nice romance with a contractor and some drama. Then I got reading it and it was WAY better than I expected. Like, WAY BETTER. Can we bold an italicize and every other formatting thing we can do for those two words?

So, I better get to explaining why so it all makes sense:

First of all, this book is based in Canada. It gives me Property Brothers vibes with a group of brothers making a television show out of renovating houses.

Side note: If you have watched Property Brothers, you 100% have a crush on one of them. This book makes so much sense. This book was the Johnathan story and OMG did it make me feel like I could just throw Johnathan in there as a fan fiction and OMG this book was meant for me.

Back to the review and away from Briar's fingerling: So we meet Michael who's one of the brothers on this show. He's the contractor, is super hot, and has a dark past (which we learn about later). His crew are all helping Emily renovate a house to make it suitable for her organic soup business. If that doesn't sound like half of the people that go on these property shows then I don't know what is. But, she's engaged to Trent. Trent is the biggest jerk on the face of the planet: he's manipulative, mean, and to throw in more alliterations, all around awful. I don't think anyone likes Trent except himself.

Michael and Emily hit it off and we can tell they are totally made for each other. They are supportive of each other and have heart eyes. Buuuut, their exes are both hanging around and making this story packed full of drama. As we go along, the book gets hot and heavy for Michael and Emily (honestly, if you want some really sexy scenes, grab this book). The romance doesn't really start until about halfway through the book, which I can also respect. I like romances where they aren't suddenly in love and ta da, finished! This book took it's time to establish a relationship and make it feel real.

It's a fantastic romance, in short. I really loved Michael and Emily's dynamic. Buuuut, there's more. There's always more, isn't there?

This book does a great job of having mental health awareness apart of it. PTSD is featured and it's taken seriously. It's not a joke in anyway. I can respect this book for making a romance with realistic aspects of life in it, not make it a joke but also not make the book feel depressing for addressing it. Rosanna Leo did an incredible job.

Overall, this book is what I wanted in a romance. It was a great escape during these crazy times. The book feels real yet also is a magical wonderland to escape from the insanity of reality.

Best quote of the book: "Seize the day. Seize the man!" I am totally gonna use that one now!

Five out of five stars!

An Irresistible Force by Rosanna Leo is an absolute delight and continues to be one of my fave, new series!

Rosanna Leo is one of my recent favourite romance authors. Her books feel real, honest but also completely adorable. I get whisked away from the craziness of our world and into a fictional universe that could easily be my own (I am Canadian, so the location isn't too far off).

An Irresistible Force is the second book in the Handymen series. It's a truly marvellous series that follows some Canadian handymen (shocker, I know) who have a home building/renovation show (think Property Brothers). I am a sucker for romances that remind me of Property Brothers, so this book series is perfect for me! Also, who doesn't want to imagine sexy men building stuff and being all romantic? It's great.

Anywho, time for the review:

This book brings Eli Zorn, one of the fantastic brothers who is a landscaper, into the lead. He mets Bernadette "Bernie" Nolan, who's a bit eccentric (and becomes a monkey wrench in Eli's plans) but is trying to protect the house and land the boys are working on. Peter Nolan, Bernie's uncle and Eli's mentor, is a giant in the landscaping business but it starting a wee bit of trouble for the both of them. These two tussle and tango up in Muskoka, Ontario in a fantastic romance that will remind you good things come to those who wait and life isn't always what we expect it.

There's so much emotion and feeling in this book but there's also so much romance and comedy. It feels like the perfect mix for someone who wants to disappear into a book. We have sad moments, awkward confrontations, moments of fury, and some of the best romantic comedy I've seen in a long time all tied up in this book. There's also some of the best quotes I've ever seen, such as "Saved by the chicken dance!".

The ending will make your heart swell, especially if you like HEA romances. This series is all around great and I highly recommend it to romantic comedy fans.

Five out of five stars.

Rosanna Leo sits high upon the Canadian romance writer throne for me. I dare you to bring me a better Canadian romance author! Jokes on you though... You're providing me more Canadian authors to binge!

I LOVE the Handymen series. I can't get enough of it and they just make me all around happy. If you want a sweet, romance with a splash of comedy then you've found the right series.

Finally, Nick Zorn gets his own book! He meets the wonderful Claire, and as you can imagine they are quite smitten with each other. He had a rough go with his ex releasing some not so nice comments over social media, but he's still lovable! Claire also had a rough go of things, if we want to put it lightly. Her husband died years ago and she hasn't exactly gotten back on the saddle yet. Did I mention that she runs a cat sanctuary? It's almost like Rosanna Leo wondered what exact plot line would make me swoon and have my heart grow five sizes too big!

The book starts off with intrigue - there's a meeting coming for the boys and it's causing them anxiety. We find out what's happening shortly, but the initial draw in was fantastic! It really made me want to desperately cling to the book and find out what was going to happen next.

Then we get into the meat of the story. This book is sugar, spice and everything nice all wrapped up into one. We get amazing, romantic lines such as 'In her, he found his home." If that doesn't just make you want to scream like a young school girl going to her favourite boy bands' concert in delight, are you even reading the same book as me? It's so sugary sweet and undeniably adorable!

Side note:
1. "Decks with Nick" sounds like the goofiest show, but I wouldn't be surprised if HGTV had something like that. It's just a boring Marketing name that made me smirk slightly. It sounds like a contractor came up with it. The name they actually use is way better!
2. Nick Cats = Uh oh. But don't worry, they won't hate him forever. He has a fairly interesting story about why him and cats don't get along.
3. Lazy contractors exist and they suck. Everyone has dealt with them.
4. "There was something sacrilegious about dismantling a shrine." This line.... This line hit home. I lost my Father years ago and my family coming in and moving/ruining his stuff felt like torture. I understood the feelings and emotions behind this line too much. That's why this book is so good though - it's relatable in all the right ways.
5. Following your dreams! Ah, it's romantic to think about the things we could do and the dreams we could follow.
6. Cats. Lots of cats. More cats. All about cats. I like it.

Overall, Nick and Claire are perfect for each other. I'm glad this book introduced me to them because they brought me lots of joy during some hard times. The awkward and funny comments between them felt so real and reminded me of the best romances around. They remind me why I love romance.

Five out of five stars.

Gets a bit of a bump because I love Greek mythology. I picked it up expecting a plain or chubby heroine, but she just dresses like a hippie.
