This book is aimed at lower elementary grades and talks about different things a scientist does and gives examples of students/kiddos doing whatever thing a scientist does is on that page. Ex: Trait-A scientist keeps trying over and over, ex- Students build. again nd again so they can stack ten. You could go through these a few at a time or one at a time throughout the year and do an activity that goes along with tem. With each trait and activity you could add it a big master list with a picture to remind the kids of how they did what scientists do. I think this book is a great resource because it allows students to see themselves as scientists through learning about what they do with children as the examples of who's doing it.… (plus d'informations)

What is a Scientist is a very good children's book to use for teaching students about science and who scientists are. Each page was about a different trait that scientists contain and how scientists use that trait. I really liked this book because not only did it explain the traits that make up a scientist, but it also gave an example of how a scientist would use each trait. The pictures were real photographs which made the book even better because it helped us get a better understanding of what was being talked about on each page.… (plus d'informations)

This book goes over everything that a scientist does. It shows that to be a scientist you need to ask questions, learn from senses, notice details, draw visuals, write what happens, make comparisons, count, and several other things. I like this book because it gives accurate information of a scientist for young students to relate themselves to. I also like how with each page there is a picture of a student with a caption explaining how they are being a scientist. I would use this book with younger grades to help them understand that scientist do a lot of stuff that they are learning how to do.… (plus d'informations)

This book is all about what a scientist is and what they do. It could be used in K-2 to talk about how each one of the kids are scientists (I like it because it has pictures of kids as scientists - multi-racial and both genders). This could also be used to introduce the scientific process! The book goes through the steps a scientist takes during experiments as well as the methods used in some instances (they learn with their senses). It could even be used to teach on the senses!
