I found this to be quite an interesting read. My first thought, as I dove in with the first essay, was that my Literature and Technology professor back in college would have loved this book (it definitely would have fit in with some of what we covered). I thought the essays were well-thought-out and well written, but not too heavy. This would be easy for anyone to jump into, although I recommend reading only one essay at a time. This book is a massive and exciting undertaking. Newton Lee is the credited editor of the book, but many contributors are credited in this tome, along with several sources cited. With so many contributors, you’d think the voice would be scattered, but Lee does a great job pulling it all together.
The concept of this book is expanding beyond the traditional human experience and quite literally transcending the division between us. This book is not a casual read but a great study. It quite literally is a handbook and a reference piece. It’s very educational on the human condition and social sciences from a perspective that homes in on many things that we hope to see in societal progression and humankind’s evolution into the next giant leap forward.

Author Newton Lee is a computer scientist who is an author and administrator in the field of education and technology commercialization. He is known for his total information awareness book series.
Lee also holds a B.S. and M.S. in computer science from Virginia Tech, and an electrical engineering degree and honorary doctorate from Vincennes University and he was the founding president of the Los Angeles chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association.
The Transhumanism Handbook was an interesting read, it covers many intriguing topics and ideas from many different authors. A big part of this book emphasises on reawakening of the human mind and body through science and technology and promoting a re-evaluation of humanity from past to present promoting policies to save earth and the human race.
Overall I found this to be a pretty captivating read, especially during the current pandemic. It left me with a lot to think about, and as there was much in the book that required much thought I believe I’ll go back and reread at some point.… (plus d'informations)
