A propos de l'auteur

While raising her four boys, Annabelle Lee spent plenty of time in the kitchen of the little farmhouse she and her family built on five acres of Southern California countryside. After spending more than fifteen years as a fashion model, time began to reward her with a few wrinkles, extra pounds, afficher plus and a diagnosis of auto-immune arthritis and lupus. Once she became committed to learning about health, disease, and aging she discovered how simply eating real food could change her life. She shares her discoveries in these pages and with her line of Real Food Baking Mixes and website CaliforniaCountryGal.com. afficher moins

I was feeling morose that morning until I looked over the table to this little book. Flicked a page. A little snort of laughter emerged from somewhere in the room. Was that me? Looked on. Chortled at “Loctopus ”. And really, who could resist the lovely “Froctopus”? “Xylopus” tickled me, don't really know why. Just one of those pun things that get you.

I’m sure this little book will cheer up all grownups as it did me. The drawings are fun and the puns, well, you know what puns are like: there will be some that really work for you and others that set off your (grownup) friends. Can you work out what “Octovist” is, for instance? Who knew that octopuses, sorry, octopii, could be so much fun.

Trying to explain some of the jokes to little ones could get you in a world of bother. But then why should only kids get all the picture books? This one is for you. And for your friends.

Disclaimer: The reviewer is Mark, Guardian of Mawson Bear, whose picture books for grownups are also released by Publisher Obscura.
