Shows how the development of civil and commercial aviation in Europe and the US has affected the global economy at every level. Contributions focus on airports, air traffic control, and specific airplanes from the helicopter to the SST. The essays chart the transfer of technology and market dominance across the world, as well as the varying reactions of different cities and nations to the potential of the aviation industry. Includes numerous b&w illustrations.

This is a very good book (i.e., a 4 on a 5 point scale), which is more than I expect when I buy a book.
This is a history of the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. It covers operations in the Balkans. This involved supplying arms and equipment to Yugoslavian partisans fighting German forces. This is 'one of the most important early experiences in the history of Air Force special operations'.
The book is well written and well ilustrated, with maps.
