Afschineh Latifi

This is Latifi's memoir of the Iranian revolution, the execution of her father in Iran, her migration to Austria with her sister where they subsequently schooled, and their later move to the US. On the one hand, she tells of the gruelling hardships they faced, the language barrier, financial difficulties, etc. and on the other, the love and kindness of strangers-turned-friends. This was a satisfying read.
