Dr. Dave Richards from the CDC and FBI Agent Paula Mushari from White Sleeper are teamed up again. They are in a race against time to find the perpetrators of a bioterrorist attack. It is an attack of MRSA that when infected the person can die within a few hours and it appears to be released indiscriminately. MRSA is an infection that is resistant to antibiotics. As they get more into their investigation, anyone they ask for assistance are also at risk from the assassins.

Biological warfare and bioterrorism is not just something from a book, it is an all too real threat that can happen at any time and anywhere and has. The book starts out in 1962 with the deaths of a few people from an infectious disease. It appears that this was a way to attack the Soviets during the Cold War should they attack the US. I liked the caption on the Part One page that said "The Primary Duty of Government Is To Not Harm It's People". This is the way that it should be but is it?? Will Dave and Paula find the criminals in time?? White Rogue is one of those books that is hard to put down and the reader is drawn into the story, a definite thriller that really kept my attention. For a book written by three different authors is amazing in my opinion, how well it all comes together. I do think that the reader should read White Sleep first so that the characters can grab your attention. I highly recommend this series and I really hope that there will be another.… (plus d'informations)

Yikes, what a roller coaster ride this book is! Bio-terrorism tends to scare the daylights out of me since it could conceivably happen. Of course this book is totally fiction but the what if scenario could keep me up for many nights to come.

When people start dying mysteriously in a small Massachusetts town, Dr. Davie Richards of the CDC (Center for Disease Control) is called in to help try and figure out where the outbreak started. He is known as an expert. He figures it out but can make no sense of how the heck it got there. He suddenly is sent to the jungle in South America to figure out why tribal people there are getting sick although again there is no rhyme or reason. He does figure this out and how to correct the problem! A massive earthquake strikes and suddenly he finds himself back in the states working with his protege and girlfriend FBI agent Paula Musari. A Framingham, Mass actuarial firm's building is infiltrated and many die from the bio engineered chemical released into its air duct.

From that point forward it is a life and death struggle to find out who is behind the bio-terrorism--Heaven help us if this ever becomes truth rather then fiction! Definite 5 Star read but be prepared for who is actually behind all this------no of course I am not going to tell you--that would ruin this story!

I had such high hopes for this book.

It’s a good premise: a bitter white supremacist working with a Muslim sleeper cell to launch a bioterror attack on US soil. A CDC agent with a spotty past and one last chance to prove himself. A mysterious operative known only as Mr. Smith. It’s the backbone of a good book or action movie, but White Sleeper never lives up to the promise.

I knew we were in trouble when the book began in one of my least favorite ways: a series of unrelated vignettes about complete strangers that will somehow be woven together over the course of the book. Sometimes, it works; usually, it’s a sign that the author doesn’t know how to give you the backstory any other way.

My big problem with White Sleeper is that it never manages to build any credible amount of tension or suspense. I never believed for a minute that the terrorists would win. Other than a little mystery surrounding the type of attack and their method for launching it, there was no mystery at all. There’s a little conflict between our hero, Dr. Dave Richards, and his politically astute boss at the CDC. There is the mystery of when (not if) Dr. Richards and the lovely FBI agent, Paula Mushari, will fall into bed. But there was really nothing to keep me turning pages, other than my commitment to a review.

Personally, I hope Fett and Langford sell the movie rights. A good director could punch this up a little, give it some suspense and a little more action. It’s timely and realistic enough to appeal to the “ripped from the headlines” crowd. I’m only sorry that the novel did not have enough of that punch and suspense to hold my attention.

This review prompted quite an attack by the author (or the author's proxies). Check out the comments on my website at Alive on the Shelves.

I am happy to have had the chance to review this book. In all honesty, I didn't think I would like it. The cover just didn't appeal to me. I like a cover that looks as thrilling as the book sounds. But, this is a case of "you can't judge a book by it's cover", because, WOW! I really ended up enjoying this book. David Fett and Stephen Langford have coupled together to create a novel that is so realistic and thrilling and really makes the reader think about the world today.

White Sleeper. An interesting title for a book. But, it fits the story so well. A very scary look at the sadistic world of terrorism. A story of seeking revenge for a father's death, of a disease that starts to wipe out people, and classic good vs. evil. Dr. Dave Richards and FBI Agent Paula Mushari are out to redeem themselves by working this case and proving that they are capable. The rush of racing against time, the thrills of a roller coaster ride as each page brings a new twist, and the perfect flow of this novel of hateful supremacy, blend together to grip the reader from start to finish.

I definitely recommend this book. It's 4 stars worthy and will leave you thinking about it, and the world today, long after you've closed it's covers. I certainly am glad that I didn't judge this book by it's cover and gave it a shot. I truly enjoyed it, and the writing style of these two authors is brilliant. I can't wait to see what these guys have in store for their readers next!
