This book is a great example of modern fantasy because it is in a realistic setting but the dog has human like traits. He acts just like a person would and wants all the luxuries of being a human instead of a dog. The fact that the dog can talk is essential to the story because he yearning to be like an human is what causes all the trouble!
Character: The main character of the dog is very important because if it had been a person it would not have had the same impact. Because of the fact that it is a dog wanting to do human-like things, it is a modern fantasy instead of a different genre. Also with the main character as a dog, that is what causes all of the issues in the story between him and his owner!… (plus d'informations)
