I liked this book for many reasons. I liked how the other gave examples of opposites which also happens to be the main message throughout the text. The author gives the reader multiple opportunities to gain a better understanding of what the opposite of something means and provides helpful examples. In the beginning the author gives examples of opposites that readers may be familiar with like hot and cold, short and tall, boy and girl. Through out the book, the author gives examples of how the main character is in situations where the outcome is good for him but bad for the other person. For example when his pet frog helps him win when he plays cards against his parents it is good for the boy but bad for his parents. I also liked how the author challenged the reader with new vocabulary. For example he uses the word, pragmatist, which he says is the opposite of dreamer. This pushes the reader to use context clues or prior knowledge to figure out what pragmatist means. With including advanced vocabulary, this expands readers word knowledge which will help students become successful readers.… (plus d'informations)
