Janet Landman, Ph.D., is a research psychologist, writer, and award-winning poet. She has taught psychology at the University of Michigan, Babson College, and Boston University. A recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship, Landman is author of many empirical journal articles and the afficher plus nonfiction book, Regret: The Persistence of the Possible. - Janet Landman is associate professer of psychology at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. She taught for over a decade at the University of Michigan, where she earned her doctorate in psychology. She is the author of numerous research articles and book chapters. Her poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Princeton Arts Review, The Dickinson Review, Icarus, Northeast Corridor, Black River Review, and other literary forums. Regret: The Persistence of the Possible par Janet Landman
A solid overview of the empirical literature on regret (as of twenty years ago). The text, however, spends much time also discussing examples from literature. That in itself is not a problem, so long as the narratives are used to illustrate empirical points, or generate hypotheses for later testing. Unfortunately she uses the literary samples as complete data on par with experimental findings. That method is itself problematic, but the moreso because she uses only a very few texts without explaining why these, and not others, merit this in-depth treatment.… (plus d'informations)
