This was the first book for me by this author and I found this mc more realistic as Bones was sadistic but troubled. It definitely has some triggers, but it made it seem more real. He had a troubled past that shaped him into the killer he is today. He craves the pain he inflicts on others; he sees himself as nothing more than a monster, people stare and are afraid of his scars. Bones may be ruthless but at times when it comes to his brothers and their families, he shows hints of vulnerability and care. Corrine has also had a rough life growing up, she struggles with her fears, and when she finds herself in trouble Bones is there helping her even though she thinks he’s the trouble he’s running from. When they find themselves in a situation will Corrine see past Bones hard exterior and scars or will her fears never let her get to know the man that he can be? Will Bones be able to let someone in after seeing himself as nothing but a monster for so long and what will happen with the club next? I enjoyed this read and will go back to catch up then wait for Pirate’s story.… (plus d'informations)

Secret Capture the 1st book in the Jagged Peaks Mountain series is a bit different than what I'm used to reading by Rae B. Lake. I really enjoyed this one. Jagged Peaks is not a place that I would have ever thought of. Definitely a mountain I don't want to end up on that's for sure.
This story is about Dane and Freda. Freda is at the resort at the bottom of the mountain to get married on Christmas Eve. That is until the night before the wedding she finds her fiance with her best friend. When she tells her mom she tells her to suck it up, that her fiance could do so much for them, meaning her but Freda won't do it. The morning of the wedding she escaped the resort and runs off ending up on the Jagged Peaks mountain. That's where she meets Dane and he's not too happy about having a strange woman wandering around where she shouldn't be. Dane is living on Jagged Peaks like the other men scattered around the mountain, hiding from things they don't want to face or the people after them. They live in solitude not trusting each other. Dane used to be an assassin of sorts for most of his life and now just wanted to live in peace and seclusion. When he sees Freda fall off a cliff he knows he can't leave her there. He nurses her back to health and learns she's hiding to from the man she doesn't want to marry. The connection between them grows and he knows he will protect her. It's a good thing cause now that she knows about the mountain she can never leave. Will Dane protect her from her ex-fiance? How will Freda take having to live the rest of her life on the mountain?
I gave this book a 4-star rating and definitely recommend being put on some TBR lists. The dynamic of the mountain and how it works is amazing. And the power 1 woman has to start changing the dynamics of those that live on it. Like maybe they don't have to isolate themselves and be alone when working together provides the best protection for them all. I can't wait for the next book to come out to see what kind of woman shakes things up next!

I have read all of the books in the Boys Of Djinn series by Rae B. Lake and now I've read Brendan. I don't know how she does it but Rae B. Lake has an amazing imagination to come up with some of the plots she does. This book has to be one of her best so far that I've read. It drew me in so hard I couldn't put it down. I laughed, I cried, and I felt steamy romance and rage. This book was packed with so much.
This book is about Brendan who is an ex-FBI agent and the SAA of the club. He was bored in the FBI and signed up for a secret program, Windstill, where they drugged and tortured him so badly turning him into the perfect killing machine before he knew he had to get out. The damage from what they did is long-lasting. This man is the most paranoid with the highest walls I've read in a book. We also get Candace or Candy in this book. She is an FBI agent and Bishop's partner. One of her informants and their child were killed and Candy vows to find who did it. She is doing this off the books with no backup so she's very lucky when she gets into trouble at a bar and Brendan is there to save her. Brendan cannot stand Candy. And he definitely can't trust her cause of who she works for. But one kiss changes it all. Brendan gets hooked and his walls start coming down. They go through some bumpy periods but they work themselves out. While they are getting closer they are both dealing with unknown threats. The MC saved some women and children that were locked in a house and trafficked. The guys running the operation didn't like that. And Candy has a stalker coming for her cause she's looking into her informant's death. The club temporarily exiles a member who they don't know if they're more enemy than ally anymore. They are all betrayed by someone they were close to. And a new group of bad guys shows up, The Faceless. By the end of the book, I was in tears.
I gave this book a 4.5-star rating because I felt Brendan and Candy went from enemies to lovers way too quickly. It was almost like enemies, next-page lovers with no in-between. I also gave this book a 4 spicy rating. It was hot and steamy for sure! This book is left on a cliffhanger (which sucks) but I can't wait for Bishop and Gabrielle's book next. I'm invested in the story and how the end comes out so much after this book. This book can be read as a standalone but parts you might not understand or people that are mentioned. You have to start at the beginning of the story or at the very least Preston's story to understand it all.

When Darius Heavy's wife is killed and his daughter kidnapped in a home invasion, Darius suffers injuries that nearly kill him. While in the hospital, he finds out that his daughter, Tia, is still missing and the police don't seem to be working very hard to find her, so Darius turns to his estranged father who is the president of the Heavy Sinners MC. Marcus will only help if Darius joins the club, so he agrees as long as finding his daughter is their first priority. One of the first things the Sinners do is to raid the local rival MC where they find Dharia, an accountant who Darius hopes can help him find his daughter.

Heavy Sinners MC: Dare to Ride is a very problematic novel. Unfortunately, the romance is not the center of the story, making this less of a romance and more of a revenge tale. There is almost no character development, producing very flat, one dimensional characters. The plot is predictable and unimaginative, with simplistic writing laced with an overuse of profanity. The one saving grace of the book is that there is a sense of urgency as Darius is trying to find his daughter. Overall, Heavy Sinners MC: Dare to Ride has a promising premise but extremely weak execution.
