Leo LaFleur

An agreeable sense of disequilibrium, nicely conveying the mythopoeic approach to story.

I especially liked the simplicity of the plot ("you" run an errand for a witch, though why or what the parcel might be is never explained) and the pervasive ambiguity (are witches good? --what are all these threats about?). Oehlers' illustrations depict "you" as a boy, but LaFleur's accompanying text never specifies anything other than that you don't remember why you work for the witch, merely that you had few options.

Generally reminiscent of Gaiman's Instructions in overall POV, though LaFleur's effort feels less meta in its conception.… (plus d'informations)
