Read or Die, Vol. 1 (R.O.D.: Read or Die) par Hideyuki Kurata
Simple and I liked the paper powers, but I'm starting to think manga isn't really my genre. I just haven't connected with any of the characters very deeply, and in this case I found my attention drifting regularly.
This manga was the basis for the movie R.O.D. In it we meet agent paper, a true bibliophile who's love for books borders on the scary. This book is comparable to Misery, with a villian kidnapping Yumiko's favorite author so that he can "help" her write better.
I read the english version of this book, but since it doesn't appear I thought I would put my review here. In this volume we learn more about Yumiko's mysterious past and about the first volume's accusations regarding the Yumiko's murder of her boyfriend. We also learn that he is still alive.
