Who was Ferdinand Magellan is a book on no one other than Ferdinand Magellan and here is his story and his life adventure. Ferdinand was born roughly around 1480 into a family called the Magellans. Ever since he was small he loved boats and wanted to travel in them. As Ferdinand got older he was able to do more he lived in the country of Portugal and was able to get involved with the government.
He fought two battles for Portugal against Arabs. He even may have sailed to the phillipines for the first time in 1512. But what really him famous is when he traveled around the globe. In 15818 the Spanish king said that he would fund Magellans trip. Then on 1819 he and his crew with five ships left to go to the spice islands. Ferdinand was cruel he stopped a mutiny and when someone showed disobedience it meant death. Yes Magellan did die on this trip when he agreed to help fight another countries enemies and he lost four ships but one ship with 18 men made it back so Magellan was given credit since it was his voyage.

This book was very interesting and was a nice little read I would recommend it to those wanting to know more information on Ferdinand Magellan Because he was born centuries ago it may not be the easiest to find info on him The book wasn't to challenging it was a cool laid back read and it was really enjoyable to kick my feet up and just read. And I know that sooner or later I will have to learn about Magellan so when that time comes i'm already a bit prepared. Overall what i'm saying is that this book was nice and I found a good interesting read.

Who Was Ferdinand Magellan? by Sydelle Kramer was filled with interesting information but also sprinkled with a lot of unfounded speculation. My the time Magellan was sailing, the sailors knew the world was NOT flat but this was stated that they believed it was flat and fearful. There was also grammar errors. The info was interesting about his life and I did learn a lot but some things were not facts but fictionalized for the story, did it happen like that? Umm.... Good book over all. He was certainly a nut!… (plus d'informations)
