One of the few sequels I've seen that far surpasses the original. Of course, in my mind, "Top Gun" was a "B" movie. Technically it was very impressive, the in-cockpit shots and other aerial photography was top notch. In the Blu-ray extras, we learned that the director actually planned to be an aeronautical engineer in college, and it showed. The high school macho of the original gave way to more adult, restrained dialogue, tho there was the inevitable asshole in the Top Gun class and the tear-jerking scene.… (plus d'informations)
2022 movie #226 (and final). 2022. We enjoyed this. Having just watched the original, it was interesting to see how Cruise played this sequel. Pretty well I'd say. Exciting, with some twists and very enjoyable. Also a plausible story for bringing back the character.
