Die Nachtwachen des Bonaventura par BONAVENTURA
Chapter 8 of this singular text from the German Romanticism deals with a character who tries to live exclusively for the fine arts. But he suffers under the fact that this style of life is highly unprofitable. Very modern issue.
Classic and woefully unavailable text of early 19th century German decadence. Well worth tracking down a copy.
