Holly used to love celebrating Christmas, but this year is different. Her children will be spending Christmas with their father. Her best friend, Sloane, decides she needs a holiday season of partying. Sloane takes her out to Rogue (which was the restaurant she and her ex had their first date) and her ex's best friend is there. He asks her to dance which she decides to do since she has had a few drinks and hasn't danced for a while. Sloane's boyfriend sends a photo to Brant, her ex, showing them dancing. It derails all the plans he had as he rushes home. Will he stop something from happening between Holly and his ex-best friend? Will he get Holly to listen to him? Will he get Holly back?

I enjoyed this story. Holly and Brant are miserable apart, but Holly has shut herself off from Brant because he was not available when she needed him two years earlier. She will not listen to him. Her friends decide it's time for her to listen. I liked the plotting of the friends and family around Holly and Brant. It's cute.

This is a feel-good story about second chances and communicating with one another. Holly's parents also get into the groove. It also shows that love does not die because you divorce. You just have to work harder and together to get the love and trust back. The epilogue was a bit preachy and did not need to be there. The story ending on New Year's Day was perfect.

Becoming Mrs. Ryan
by Michelle Brown
Sweet holy hell. What the hell did I just read? As disturbing as it was I couldn't quit turning the pages as I tried to figure it out. Even after finishing it, I am not sure what I read. What I do know is that it will stick with me as I try and figure it out even days from now.

Absolution
by Michelle Pace
This piece was so artfully written that it wouldn't have surprised me if this had happened in real life and the author was just recounting a piece of history that had been buried in the Catholic church. Disturbing, chilling, and intense.

Blood Brothers
by Murphy Wallace
This story takes MM to a WHOLE new level. It is definitely Taboo. I struggled with the taboo part of it. However, the author did a great job showing how the characters fought their attraction not only as gay men but also because of the other element.

Melancholia
by Chloe Lane
Yet, another story that left me confused more than conflicted. I tried to see where this story was going and kept feeling like something bad was going to happen. The ending was not at all what I was expecting. It actually left me with a little hope.

Encore
by Elizabeth Cash
This story! Sweet lord. Generally, the stories like this one are typically reversed in regards to the gender. I have only read one other story that made it with The heroine being in this sole. I didn't want this story to end. I need a full story of these two. They were FIRE. Seriously, I hope the author reads this and listens to my request. This is the first time reading this author and now I am going to go in search of all her words. HOT

Cinder and Smoke
by Addison Kline
This story was intriguing and really piqued my interest. I kept turning the pages because the story sucked me in. It is a story that will be continued. I will keep an eye out for it.

Keeping Secrets
by Avery Reigns
This isn't the neighborhood that I thought it was going to be. Most definitely not. I had no idea this was the direction the story was going. Interesting, and most definitely taboo and not just because of the age.

The Thief and the Liar
by Yolanda Olson
I KNEW it. Initially, I was thinking the first part of the story was the entire story and I wondered if it was foreshadowing this outcome. I knew that this author would have no qualms with pushing me. I am truly at a loss of words over this twist. I shouldn't be because again, this author is KNOWN for taking things to the extreme, but I am.

Burnt Embers
by Ally Vance
I know I shouldn't like stories like this as much as I do but sweet lord this is dark, delicious, and titillating. I wanted more and am VERY happy it said For Now after the words.. I will be most definitely be on the lookout for this continuation because anti-hero is my FAVORITE and I can tell Ash is going to be a new infatuation for me. Loved that their names were ember and Ash too.

Indiscriminate
By Emery Leehan
This story, while it had elements of taboo was more horror than taboo. It was hard for me to finish. That being said, I still have to give the author credit for being able to write with such details. Now that I type that, it worries me a little too. I am going to tell myself that the author watches a lot of forensics because otherwise, this is one scary mind.

Caim
by Anna Edwards
This novella was the reason that I bought this anthology (besides the obvious reason that I liked where the proceeds are going). Knowing that this story is the prequel to the new Jade Riders series has me giddy. This is MC at its rawest and most extreme. It is written in only the way that this author can write. She pushes the buttons, doesn't mince words and creates a story that is darkness juxtaposed with light. To say that she knocked this one out of the park would be an understatement. I cannot wait.

Very interesting collection of taboo stories. There were many different sub genres to suit a variety of interests. I look forward to them continuing into a full story.

Couldn’t sleep till I finished the book – thought I could read a few chapters then go to sleep but I was drawn in and kept reading till I finished the book…at 2am. As some others have said…the writing can flip from first to third person on a dime and from one person’s viewpoint to another within a page but the story was fast paced with twists and turns, good and evil, some romance and quite a few surprises about people I thought were one way and turned out not quite what I thought they were. I am surprised that Letty and Miles were still in love after so many years apart without any interaction BUT this is fiction so why not a bit of fantasy and acceptance in spite of everything. I did not realize this is the first in a series but now wonder if perhaps Miles brothers will get stories of their own and if so, that will be something to look forward to! I also want to find out what will happen after the end of this story…what people will do in the future and how they will get on with their lives.

Thank you to the author for the copy of this book to read and review.
