Courte biographie
Casey Renee Kiser, a.k.a. snail viXen,
is an American poet who tends to explore identity issues and suicidal tendencies due to different forms of emotional abuse, the journey to self-love, and healing within complicated relationships. Her poetry is quirky and armed with bold confessional dynamite. Her humor is confrontational, often abrupt, and {always} unsettling.

NightMARE Crush feels like opening up the lyrics book on a goth-pop-punk CD in the late 90s/ early 2000s. I've made it back from the record store two stickers and this album richer, take off my 20-eye boots and fishnets, and pop this disk into the cd player. Gods be damned, I got a blank disk! Without the distortion and melody I must simply curl up on the cat-fur covered bean-bag and read my lyrics booklet. A hollow place opens in my anticipated joy. All this to say, I wish someone would write a goth-pop-punk album with these spiky, campy, dark poems as lyrics! Asylum P3ARL, how were you not on one of 15yo Mixed CDs?! Anywho, if you love 90s campy goth punk angst and dark broody song lyrics type poetry, grab a copy of this, throw on some L7 and dig in.… (plus d'informations)

*early reviewer*

I rate poetry differently - more generously. I'm not a huge fan of it (unless it's Bukowski) but it's the most vulnerable stuff you can write, I think. I read some of these as if they were songs by "The Cramps" and it fit perfectly. Not bad.

Short collection of poetry with a focus on horror, while also bringing some humor. Each poem used language in different ways, which helped make each feel unique. There's also all sorts of stellar imagery. It all made for a fun reading experience. A collection I'll want to keep revisiting, since I'm sure I'll uncover more as I reread.
