Forbidden Fire is the second book in the Forbidden Trilogy. In Forbidden Fire, Sam and Drake have escaped and are living under the radar in California. While they try to stay out of sight and come up with a plan to rescue the other Rent-A-Kids, they are struggling with more personal issues, like jealousy and ethics. Meanwhile, back at the compound, Lucy and Luke are caught in a nightmare that just keeps getting worse as the Organization tightens its hold.

With unexpected revelations and an interesting twist, Forbidden Fire will keep you enthralled until the very last page. I read the whole thing in one sitting. Forbidden Life comes out today, and you can bet I'll be reading it as soon as I get my hands on it. I need to find out if Drake's common sense will overcome his pride. (He's such a typical male.)

Where I got the book: Free from the author in exchange for an honest review

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW

Bizarre but entertaining for the most part

I am in two minds as to how to score this one. I had already read the kindle edition and quite enjoyed it. The narration is a bit of a curate’s egg - good in parts, The narrator puts her all into her performance, having distinctive voices for all the characters and fully expressing the emotional content. Two elements of the narration were off-putting for me. Very near the beginning there is an awful lot of screaming from Bernie, the main character, whilst she is in labour. That doesn’t continue for the whole book so we can pass over that. Unfortunately Bernie’s best friend AJ pops up throughout the book and I found her voice very abrasive. It may not affect others in the same way.

I did find I needed to increase the narration speed very slightly. I really appreciate the great flexibility Audible provides here - vastly superior to that offered by Apple Books.

Karpov Kinrade hits another home run with Moonlight Prince!

The Vampire Girls series has been an incredible series that keeps bringing home the gold. Each book has been a step up from the last and this one was no exception! While it's heartbreaking to know this series is ending, it's nice to see it ended on the author's terms and not continued just to make a few bucks.

Ari's story is continued, leaving us with twists, turns and surprises you'd never expect! It will pull at your heart strings, lead you down paths you never thought you'd follow and ignore a fire inside of every reader! This book is fantastic and it's a must read for all readers!

Without giving anything away, you can be sure that Karpov Kinrade have made an excellent novel. It is obviously they took time to create a fantastical plot to keep the reader's enchanted. This book will not disappoint if you'd read the rest of the Vampire Girl series. And be sure to read the rest of the series to truly see how wonderful this book is!

This journey is a fantastic read for all readers and is definitely a must read for every fantasy fan!

Karpov Kinrade does an excellent job yet again with House of Ravens.

This novel has been increased greatly with more content from the original version, and it was a step up! This new, revised version was incredible and leaves the reader desperate for more!

While book one left you on a bit of a hanger about what will happen next, House of Ravens fills the void and creates an epic fantasy for every reader to enjoy. Nightfall/Scarlett grows a lot in this book, and I felt like the character growth was exponential compared to the last novel, Court of Nightfall. This growth makes the book a lot more enjoyable, and with all the drama and action occurring makes it a great step up.

The novel moves at a decent, fast pace - it doesn't feel to slow, but it doesn't feel like you're skipping over any important details when you read it. The story also moves smoothly, and doesn't chop around like some novels tend to do. I personally didn't get bored with it, and I didn't feel the need to skip over some chapters (like some books present to the reader).

The twists, turns and surprises of the novel make this a worthy purchase/read. It's rare to find a long novel with a great plot, good character development and a smooth and steady story that keeps you interested. It was an honor to read this novel and I desperately want more!

Overall, this extravagant novel will take you out of this world, leave you breathless, desperate for more and wanting to throw a temper tantrum because the next book isn't out just yet!

Five out of five stars!
