One of the POVs is tstl but not only that, the author also describes every single stupid decision he makes in excruciating detail throughout long-winded conversations including at least twice as many words as inner monologue again.
I just don't enjoy watching a train wreck in slow-motion ultra-hd 240fps VR.
If you need a story thread about turning to the dark side at least give the person a tiny bit of brain and a good reason.
Now that I think about it I think there isn't a POV that isn't tstl actually and there are quite a few of them.… (plus d'informations)

This was an unexpected treat. While the set up is a bit on the long side, I really like Nick Morgan, the MC of this new series. He's quick, intelligent, is open to new ideas, and fun. To cover the bills, he entertains older ladies with his Tarot Readings (for entertainment purposes only, of course) and has a life long fascination with the occult, paranormal, magic, etc.

His world gets turned on its head when he loses a friend to a potion that turns out to be dangerous and loses another when he disappears without a trace. Nick sets out to find out what happened to his friends and meets Bron Broome, another person who's lost a friend to the same potion, and they strike up an uneasy partnership. Soon enough, the pair are on the tracks of supernatural fiends Up To No Good ™, and Nick's about to discover there's more to his past and his new friend than he ever expected.

I look forward to the next book in the series.
**Special unexpected bonus: Bron Broome is ace!**

3.5 stars Though a good read, it started loosing points the moment I realized the main character is being led around by his libido by the female character (who, though she doesn't call herself such, is a succubus). Things pick up after Jason and Verity return to Palo Alto and pull Stone's head out of his, er, that is, the sand.
>sigh
