I've never read a self-help book in my life, but this one was actually quite useful. It contained some common-sense wisdom and good tips to help me get back on my proverbial feet after my emotional crisis.

Thank you to the publisher for sending me this book as part of a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review.

The reason that I entered this giveaway is because I was intrigued by this book being described as a spiritual fairy tale. I wasn't sure what a spiritual fairy tale was meant to be, but I enjoyed this weird and wonderful adventure. Madame Metier is getting a 5 star rating, which I don't give out usually. This book was something new and different, and it brought me a gentle and mystical start to 2018. It's definitely worth the 5 stars.

This book is different in that it's quiet and mystical. You might like this book if you're interested in calm, weird, and unusual. That combination is a win for me, but I can see where others may not enjoy the journey.

Daphne Rose Kingma was interviewed in Huffpost about her spiritual fairy tale and described this new genre as its core intention being the delivery of spiritual truths. "What is offered in a spiritual fairy tale is information about our souls, our spiritual destinies, and the meaning and power of Love, which is our eternal essence."

There are four main characters in this book: Madame Metier, Mademoiselle Objet, Monsieur Sorbonne, and Monsieur L'Ange. Madame Metier embarks upon a feminist journey upon the death of her physician husband, and she returns to a former passion of concocting cremes based upon dead flowers. These cremes supposedly deliver miraculous healing results. Due to the extreme skills of Mademoiselle Objet in bringing order out of chaos, the healing mission of Madame Metier thrives and Madame Metier even becomes famous enough for her own television show on the Television Station.
Monsieur Sorbonne and Mademoiselle Objet love each other, but each has individual struggles with everyday issues of finding purpose in work and in controlling unruly emotions. Madame Metier provides gentle wisdom to both of her dear friends, and it's beautiful to see them developing peace in their lives. Monsieur L'Ange is indescribable, and it was intriguing to read his story arc and realize Monsieur L'Ange bringing beauty and love to Madame Metier's life.

This is a book that I will read again because it spoke to me about the calling of work, finding one's purpose particularly as a female, love, and friends.

101 Ways to Have True Love in Your Life
by Daphne Rose Kingma

This is a thoughtful and gentle how-to about bringing and sustaining the energy of love in your life. I was impressed with the way Daphne has compassionately and simply laid this book out in a natural progression from loving self to preparing to love others, living love, communicating love and then bringing it to a higher more spirit based level.

Each section is broken down into easy to follow segments filled with suggestions, and informational snippets all designed to help us find and sustain love in all its many forms. The author teaches us in her own direct nonjudgmental style that love is energy and some of us may be more adept at pulling it into our lives than others, but we can all achieve higher levels of loving by not being discouraged and just trying. I had a peaceful time reading this book, I really felt understood, motivated and rejuvenated to try new methods of growing with love. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to bring more love and light into their lives.

Love & Light,

Riki Frahmann
