I really enjoyed this book! Anyone who likes Amish fiction will like this story!

The setting in Lancaster, PA, is serene! You can hear the clip clop of the horses hooves and the moos of the cows!

The characters are relatable and genuine! Alta is generous, helpful, and sweet. She is heartbroken over a misunderstanding with her daughters.
Jonas is fantastic! He's committed to his faith, loving and compassionate.

The theme of second chances is evident throughout the book. Forgiveness is also key. Faith in God is prevalent throughout the book!

This is a definite must read! I can't wait to read more books by this author!

This romantic Amish tale nicely illustrates that some heartache and frustrations could be avoided with a little serious communication and honest revelations. Charlotte, better known as Charlie, has a crush on Nate, but Nate, at seven years her senior, believes he is too old for her. They are friends, and though each wants to be more than that, they shy away from declaring their true feelings. As the story evolves, their on-again-off-again friendship keeps changing. It’s a lovely Christmas story, if a bit simplistic. Readers will know quickly how it ends, but still, the journey there is a nice one.… (plus d'informations)

His Suitable Amish Wife: This was a story of a still-grieving father trying to find someone to care for his young son. He won't marry for love again, but needs a wife to take care of his son. Ellie agrees to provide housecleaning and child-care service for Reuben, the Amish widower, even though Reuben is very reluctant and rude to her to begin with. Ellie will fall in love with Reuben's young baby, and later with Reuben, but won't marry him when he asks her, because she wants to marry for love. Can Reuben learn to trust his heart and fall in love again? I liked the underlying chemistry between these two Amish people. You know what is going to happen, but it sure is fun to watch it take place.

Amish Covert Operation: This was also a good story, but harder to believe it could happen. Amish widow Katie is searching for her brother that has seemed distant to everyone. She stumbles across him being held at gunpoint and barely escapes with the help of an undercover agent, Adam Troyer, who has been tracking a counterfeit smuggling ring. Now she is wounded, fleeing from those out to get her, and being protected by an Englisher, Adam. There is a lot of danger and intrigue as Katie and Adam try to solve the cryptic message her brother left her, before the "bad guys" get to Katie. Another danger is also brewing; the feelings Katie and Adam both start to have for each other. But they both realize that when this is over, they will both go back to their Enlish and Amish way of living. Or will they??

I've not read previous books in the Lancaster County Weddings series and I found it hard to keep the large cast of supporting characters straight--trying to figure out who was related to whom etc.

I do admire that the Amish community works together to help its own. They'll hold fundraisers or donate time etc. So even though the Lapps charge Martha King some for the work they do, I'm betting they didn't charge full price.

I was confused by Ike King taking out such a large loan for farm equipment. I thought most Amish preferred not to go into debt for most things. But then again, he didn't expect to die, so maybe he thought he'd be able to make the payments and thought it was a good investment--though he apparently neglected the house in order to buy the farm equipment so . . .

I grew tired of Martha and Eli having reasons why they couldn't love each other. It was okay at first, but after a bit, it seemed like they just needed to admit their feelings to each other and move forward. Also, Eli seems to project feelings onto Martha such as "she's not yet over Ike" instead of just asking her if it were so. Then again, most men seem clueless so . . .
