Cunsey Nab, Lake District. The peace of this quiet area is broken by the first murder, that of farmer Batty Hogben. After the second, hotel owner Peter Miller seems to be the target.
Enjoyable enough that I finished the story

Action-packed from beginning to end this fast-paced Western was gritty, pithy and a fun quick read. Tom Bligh is a man of action on his way back to his ranch after a cattle drive. He, along with others, is robbed while on the stagecoach and he wants his money back. As he is able to he heads out with Emilio Chavez to track “El Mexicano” in hopes of getting his money back. Frankie Lewis is the female interest in the story and a whole lot more than she appears to be when first met on the stage. And, El Mexicano has a few secrets of his own, too. I was intrigued by the rattlesnake incident – made me wonder if this was something that has happened in real life or something the author dreamed up – either way it was new to me and definitely caught my interest.

Fast-paced, gritty and all that a Western should be! This story took me back to the days when I read my father’s collection of Westerns and lived to read the next one. The desert, search for waterholes, a strong woman, a family in need, Indians, bad men and one strong incorruptible savvy man doing what needed to be done made this delightful to read. In fact, I was up till two this morning not wanting to sleep till I found out what would happen to Murphy, Rosemary and the Davey family. I liked the strength, resilience and will to live shown by the characters and found that I would have wanted to be like them if I had found myself in their shoes.

This book was a lot better than volume one. Volume one was all of the place with ideas where this one focused on dialogue. I used this book as well as volume one the teach a lesson on video composition. Also some of the drawnings were a lot more clear to than the first volume. I didn't know the ones from Volume one were bad until I saw bettr ones in Volume two.
