In the second book in the series, Kate is now in Homicide and is involved in the murders of 2 people with ties to pop star, Karma. Her new boss really, really does not like her and that just adds to the pressure, because the killer is now planning to kill Kate.

These books are fun and funny. The mysteries are pretty good. I like Kate and her family and friends even though the can be pretty childish when it comes to humor. Lots of penis jokes. I plan to read more in the series but I think I will take a break from the wiener fest.… (plus d'informations)

Detective Kate Sexton works the Hollywood beat. Recently divorced and broke, she becomes embroiled in a murder case that is linked to a cold case from 30 years ago. With her canine partner, Bernie, her profane BFF Natalie and a retired cop, she sets out to solve the crimes and save her career.

This book was entertaining and the mystery is pretty good. Although there was plenty to laugh about, the crimes had a hard edge as do many of the characters. It took me a while to realize who was who among the normal cast of characters--a bit confusing since at the time, I didn't realize this was book 5.

I liked the storylines, but found the writing a bit too risqué for my taste and there were too many errors, both of the grammatical type and in continuity (especially character names) that pulled me out of the story. I don't think I'll read anything more by this author.… (plus d'informations)
