Hyperia Jones and the Olive Branch Caper: Hyperia… par David M. Kelly
This sci-fi comedy was so much fun. I loved all the characters, even the dastardly Bolt, and there are so many memorable moments, especially *that* scene with the chocolate tingleberries! This is a different style from the author's other books, but there's still plenty of fast-paced action, and if you like the humor in the Joe Ballen series, you'll definitely enjoy this one.
The secondary characters are especially strong in this final installment of the series, providing great backup to Logan as he battles enemies both human and alien. As we've come to expect from this author, the action builds and builds and I was desperate to reach the end, but also sad too that this is over. A worthy end to a great series, and some hints that this may not be the end for these characters! If you've read the Joe Ballen books, you'll definitely enjoy this series too.
What a journey! It feels like we're battling all the way with Logan as he resorts to desperate measures to reach Kwelengsen again. The direction of the story in the first third/half of the book was unexpected, but in a very interesting way. Some great worldbuilding, thought-provoking scenes, and not lacking in moments of cynical humor. I enjoyed the return of some familiar faces as well as the new characters in the mix, and there are some intriguing developments as we learn more about the planet itself. Wow! This book grabs you & won't let go. Some of the action scenes left me breathless and exhausted, in a good way! The main character, Logan, is so fierce in his determination to fight for what's right, you can't help rooting for him. I also loved the characters of Heskith and Havji and hope they will return in future books.
This is a spin-off from the Joe Ballen series, with a bit more of a military sci-fi flavor and slightly more serious in tone, but certainly not without moments of humor. Overall, a great read for anyone who enjoys action adventure sci-fi with compelling characters.… (plus d'informations)
