This book had a great great great premise. No health care. No meds. Wow! This stuff is scary. But alas, I felt as though it could have so much more. I will definitely read the sequel, but I hope the writing gets better. I felt as if the authors were trying to write down to the audience. YA today are much more savy and can rise to the writing. Just look at Book Thief and even the City of Bones trilogy.
A novel for teens and adult. A paranormal thriller. Three teenagers on a school trip have a car accident, survive the accident only to find themselves in another world identical to their world, including parents, siblings, etc. with exception, no medicine exists and is actually outlawed. Medicine, doctors, hospital and medication are outlawed and punishable by jail or worse. People are sick and dying without medical intervention. It is forbidden to talk about sickness or medication. The three teenagers want to return to their own world however in order to do that, they need to recreate the accident that changed their world.… (plus d'informations)
This book keeps you thinking and looking for clues to the truth. Would be better without the foul language.
I liked the premise of this book - alternate worlds are always intriguing. But the execution didn't work for me. The way the main characters move between worlds, the fact that there are lots of people who have made this shift but it's been managed that no one really knows about it, even the difference between the two worlds. It was entertaining enough but not enough depth or reason for the story.
